A little thing called agape

Love has a lesser known sister: agape, pronounced a-gah-pay. This type of love has goodwill and benevolence at its heart.

Agape isn’t sexual love or sisterly love. But, every time you see an act of faithfulness and commitment you are witnessing agape at work. Hence, agape is an active word, which, if you look closely enough, you can see at work in the world around you.

One thing I love about agape is that it entails lofty ideals of morality. In five letters it beckons us to raise our moral code.

This is a clarion call for a world with more agape. All be it at work, at home, and in our communities — let us put it to good use in our lives. Let us spread a little agape.
